3 Out Method in Casino Gambling - Part 3

By Wild Bill

Now that the 3-Out bettor understands how to set up his bankroll and the basic pattern of readjusting bets after losses, but keeping the same bet after a win, adjustments can be made for specific games.

Blackjack is the easiest game to use 3-Out. Winning three bets in a row happens often, but unfortunately so does losing many hands in a row. To minimize the effects of a bad table and what it can do to one's emotional state, set a limit for lost bets in a row at which point you must leave the table.

Using the 3-Out count bets, not hands, which is important since you will have double down and split hands where more than one bet is at stake. The good news is when you follow basic strategy, your double and split hands are almost always facing situations where you have a better than 50/50 expectation of winning, making your chances of getting three consecutive winning bets more likely.

In general follow basic strategy and the rules of 3-Out, while setting a limit of 4 or 5 losing bets in a row as your signal to go to another table.

Craps is more complicated for 3-Out and a bit tougher to complete since winning three bets in a row tends to be more difficult than in blackjack. Not to mention constant calculation of bet sizing can be difficult.

The basic idea is to play the pass or don't pass and then have a separate “account” for your odds bets.  Your goal with this account should be to break-even with odds bets. Have line and come bets act as your potential profit with the 3-Out, while odds bets are sized to stay about even.  Occasionally you can take a small profit out of the odds account, but don't count on it as part of your plan.

For example say you have just started playing and you have three working pass and come bets on the felt.  Just bet single or double odds at this time. Should you lose your odds bets, make the loss amount your goal for future odds bets. You lose more often than you win with odds bets making them unreliable for use in the 3-Out.  Stick to betting an amount that gets you even should you hit three winners in a row.

Otherwise follow craps basic strategy of having three numbers working for you.  If the table gets hot you can catch your three winning bets in a row and then start over again “on the fly” with more pass line or come bets at the original bet size.

If you don't want to bother with odds, playing the “don't” might make sense. If the shooter sevens out after establishing a couple of numbers, the “don't” bettor can get three wins and out of a series.

Other casino games can be played with modified versions of 3-Out, but are more difficult to implement. The high payoff/low frequency nature of many games make structuring a three-win strategy difficult. You could set up session goals for each and make three winning sessions your goal, but this requires some creativity, not to mention bucking the bad odds other games mostly offer.

Just remember the 3-Out isn't a ticket to long-term success, nor is it suited for everyone. Success at gambling often comes from knowing yourself and many should know they will chase with no abandon. For these people the 3-Out might be the orderly system they need to improve their results.
