Stephen Martino, the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission's executive director, issued a ruling this week allowing vendors of slots and other gambling equipment to get temporary permits to sell equipment in the state.
 
A few weeks ago, operators of the Boot Hill Casino and Resort being built in Dodge City voiced concern that current Kansas law would bar most vendors and put their planned November opening in jeopardy.

"A process has been established that allows gaming suppliers to do business in the state while preserving the Racing and Gaming Commission's historical role of thoroughly investigating gaming participants and ensuring that they are of high integrity," said Martino.
